As a Structures Designer for UBC Solar, I am focused on building a strong technical foundation in the design and analysis of high-performance composite systems. Throughout the development of our carbon fiber monocoque chassis, I have gained hands-on experience using Ansys ACP Pre for composite layup modeling, Static Structural for FEA, and Material Designer for characterizing material properties. My work involves using SolidWorks for design iterations and participating in materials testing to better understand how theoretical designs perform in the real world. This role has allowed me to develop essential team communication skills while collaborating with a multidisciplinary engineering group. I am currently working to refine and improve our chassis designs as I prepare to support the manufacturing phase. Our collective efforts are dedicated to building a competitive vehicle for the 2027 Formula Sun Grand Prix.
